Customer review:
The Book Thief is my favorite book of all time because, even thought it is set in Nazi Germany, it is about a girl who loves to read, and I think reading is one of the most important things in the world. I think it is very well written, the plot twists are excellent and the ending shocked and saddened me, yet it is a beautifully written book, from a unique perspective. Truly, and amazing book, that should be read by all mature enough to handle it. - Sojourner McKenzie

Her parents have been taken away to a concentration camp. Liesel steals books. This is her story and the story of the inhabitants of her street when the bombs begin to fall. Some important information - this novel is narrated by death. It's a small story, about: a girl; an accordionist; some fanatical Germans; a Jewish fist fighter; and quite a lot of thievery. Another thing you should know - death will visit the book thief three times.
